I am very passionate abt the things I'm interested in. Whether it is my work, music, hobbies, or other interests of which I have many. I always liked to think of myself as "An Equal Opportunity" person~ I'll give most anything a chance to see if I like it or not. Lots of things didn't make the "cut", but there are a lot that did~~ things that didn't have a chance, or so I initially thought. I have a good sense of humor, quite a bit off the wall, sometimes a bit perverted, with a lot of good natured harassment thrown in. The bunch I run with are always harassing & picking on one another, but nothing malicious. Just a good time! The way I explain it is "If your not being harassed by someone, you're not part of the "family"!?!? Life is too short to be serious abt everything. I believe it was Art Linkletter that said~ "Laughter Is The Best Medicine!!"
I'm very much involved in the local antique steam engine / old equip assn. To be able to restore, operate, & preserve this equip. & lifestyle of the past for the future generations means a lot to me. To be able to bring something back from a rusty lump of junk & make it functional & useful again~ I enjoy that.
I appreciate & enjoy a wide variety of music~ of course the classic rock & country from the 60s & 70s that I was raised on, but also like a lot of the new stuff. Not too much of the rap or new "dance" music, altho there have been a few that have caught my ear b/4 I changed the station?! I'm also very fond of big band music. Blues, classical, and lately I've been introduced to mariachy, I guess it would be called. I caught Jesse Cook on WQED one night & was very impressed.
Was raised in the country & love to be outside. To be outside at nite & just listen to the sounds of the night~ the trains in the distance, the Hoot Owl nearby in the woods, crickets. Lots better'n listening to a radio! Or be outside at night when it's snowing~ so pieceful & quiet~ it don't get no bedder'n that! The city's ok~ been to NYC many times (I drive trk) and have seen some very neet sights and met some very interesting people, but as the saying goes~ "It's a Nice place to visit, but ...
