First off, I'm not really the type to write long, exhaustive dating-website monologues. Or am I? Read onwards, ladies...and I'll let you be the judge...

I'm a humble, mellow athletic/Swaggerish guy in his fifties peacefully widowed with two beautiful kids , a blessed career I've made for myself, and a great group of genuine friends.

I'm an introvert/extrovert mix, with an engineer's brain and a musician's heart. Also very much an indoor/outdoor creature -- a cultured Oakland-native city kid, whose soul feels most alive in remote open natural spaces. I'm hard-wired for kinetic motion, in my element when I'm running far and fast, or feeling my body in its primal flow at the gym.

I'm equally comfortable in a Michelin Star, or a dive bar; equally at home at a posh beachfront resort, or in a tent up above the treeline; equally happy sitting at a football game or a MMA jam, as I am at a House of Blues , a dance floor, R&B Concert or any kind of music festival.

In short, true to my Oakland roots: hella chill.

I'm also a gentleman.

Fiercely loyal, tastefully chivalrous, peaceful, kind and empathic. I know the difference between deference, politeness, companionship, control, and conquest; and I know when and where to apply each, with clarity and without hesitation.

I'm never, and will never be: a flake, coward, bully, bystander, victim, or a guy drunkenly yelling at a TV.

In a nutshell: comfortable, confident-yet-humble, balanced in work and play, at peace with my own vulnerabilities. I've done my work, in the trenches of real adult life, and I no longer sweat the small stuff (or the big stuff, really). Fully present, open to new people, possibilities, fun experiences, and opportunities for growth...heart, mind, soul, and body: all in.
