I enjoy spending time in nature - hiking in the metroparks, bicycling the railtrails, paddling on quiet water, outdoor photography. I believe it is important to respect people, animals, the planet - and try to do what I can as an individual. I am not terribly impressed with material possessions, and do not believe that money is a measure of anything of great importance. Not to suggest that it's not good to have money or nice things, but if those are the most important things in your life, we will not probably see eye to eye.

Love to ride my Harley, especially on the winding back roads to nowhere special ... until I get there. I put a few miles on my Road King last year, even rode it down to Myrtle for a vacation at my brother's place. Got run off the highway in March '09, so the old bike went to the salvage yard in favor of a Street Glide. Got it about how I like it now, ready for million mile Monday!!

Love to dance, want to learn swing and waltz, just for fun ... Family, especially my children, is important to me. I work hard, but I love to play. I value kindness, gentleness, wit, and compassion as signs of true strength. I know that happiness comes from the inside out - if we look to find it from the outside in it will be a long and fruitless search. I get along well with people young and old, and of diverse origins, and I love animals, especially canines. No pets just now, just me and my fish. I tend to be a homebody, but I enjoy meeting and talking with friends, new and old. I enjoy a healthy lifestyle, eating usually natural tasty stuff, exercising often, spending time in nature, and with family and friends. I do not do these things perfectly, I just try to keep them as priorities. I play and teach tai chi part-time to seniors now after years of martial training, enjoy study of spiritual philosophies and ideas - Chinese, Native American, Celtic, Indian, still identify with my Christian roots, well, sort of ...

Friends tell me I’m laid-back, easy-going, funny, articulate, intelligent - I am not easily stressed. I take life seriously, but enjoy it immensely. I like smooth jazz, R & B (old school), movies that are more substance than flash. My creative side is best expressed in the kitchen, ummm, usually, although the music and rhythm in me wants to get out at times. I am fascinated by life, and find that solitude has value, but sharing is so much more fun.

I believe a good relationship engages both partners in spirit, mind, and body. I value mutual support and nurturance, openness in communication, honesty above all. My ideal match - someone who is more heart than ego, likes people, animals, and herself, willing to speak her mind and discuss feelings, engages and appreciates the challenges that life presents. What is inside a person is far more important than the wrapper, although physical attraction is not unimportant. It's that elusive chemistry thing, you know? I seek ultimately a long-term relationship, know it takes time and trials to find it, sort of hoping it happens in this lifetime ...
